Snag a selfie with Santa for $1 at Foodland – and support The Advertiser Foundation Christmas Kids Appeal while you’re at it

Want to snag a pic with Saint Nick but don’t want to fork out what the some stores are charging? Here’s where and when to make it happen for just a gold coin donation!

Giant Santa makes his comeback to Adelaide

This is your opportunity for a selfie with Santa for a fraction of the cost charged by David Jones this Christmas.

Foodland Supermarkets are partnering with The Advertiser Foundation Christmas Kids Appeal in giving its South Australian customers the chance for a photo op with the jolly man in red for just a gold coin donation.

“We loved Foodland’s Santa selfie idea and the money we collect will help vulnerable and flood-affected kids. And if you don’t have a gold coin, you can scan the QR code on the collection bucket,” Head of The Advertiser Foundation Dan Demaria said.

Foodland Supermarkets chief executive Franklin dos Santos said he wanted to bring the spirit of Christmas to all and make it accessible.

“With all the news at the moment around interest rates and tough times, we thought we’d spread a little joy by bringing Santa into stores and give our customers the opportunity to get a selfie with him for a gold coin donation and support The Advertiser Foundation Christmas Kids Appeal,” Mr dos Santos said.

“This is such an important cause, and we know that in such a challenging year, kids are needing support and a little happiness more than ever.”

Santa will be visiting 17 stores across Adelaide from 10am-1pm including Norwood Foodland on December 8, Brighton Foodland on December 14, North Adelaide Foodland on December 15, Mitcham Foodland on December 22 and Rundle Mall Foodland on December 23.

The initiative comes as department store David Jones came under fire for charging $25 for children to sit in Santa’s lap in the Magic Cave in Adelaide Central Plaza.
