Shannon Tubb will keep PAC cricket coach job after probe into allegations he sent lewd texts to the same woman as his brother-in-law, Tim Paine

PAC’s First XI cricket coach will keep his job after a probe into alleged lewd messages he sent to the same woman as his brother-in-law, former Cricket Australia captain Tim Paine.

The brother-in-law of Tim Paine will retain his position as cricket coach at one of Adelaide’s most prestigious schools after he was embroiled in a sexting scandal with the same woman as the former Australian Test captain.

Shannon Tubb will continue to coach Prince Alfred College’s first XI this year after a review was completed into his alleged lewd behaviour at Cricket Tasmania in 2017.

PAC principal Bradley Fenner told The Advertiser the college had fully investigated the matter and that parents had been informed of the decision to keep Mr Tubb as coach.

“We’ve done a full review of Shannon’s position and found out all we could about what had occurred and gave Shannon a chance to explain to us what had happened,” Mr Fenner said.

“We took into account all of the facts of the matter as they were presented to us and we also reflected on the good work that he’s done with us over the past almost two and a half years.

“We’re completely transparent about these things, we wrote to all our parents at the time the matter came up … we have subsequently communicated with our parents in the last couple of days, advising the decision we’d reached following the review.”

Mr Fenner said no parents had challenged the decision so far and no opposition to his return would change the college’s support of Mr Tubb.

“We’ve come to a conclusion on this. We’re not going to change anything now, we’ve investigated it fully,” he said.

In documents seen by News Corp, a former female Cricket Tasmania worker claimed Mr Tubb sexually harassed her over a period of several months when he worked as a coach.

It was claimed Mr Tubb – who is married to Paine’s sister – allegedly wrote in messages to the woman, including: “I want to put my c... in between your t...”

He also allegedly wrote: “You made me hard today, I know you noticed”, and “Send me something, I want to play with myself”.

“F... your t... look massive today”, it was claimed Mr Tubb also wrote in a message posted on Snapchat.

The woman, whom The Advertiser has chosen not to name, quit her role in late 2017 amid unrelated allegations against her that led to criminal charges, which are still before the courts.

Paine stepped down from the Australian Test captaincy in November last year amid allegations he too sent X-rated messages and an unsolicited “dick pic” to the same woman.

The South Australian Cricket Association, where Mr Tubb is employed as the academy pathway program coach, also investigated the allegations.

A spokesman said Mr Tubb returned to the association in January.

“SACA undertook an investigation to clarify, within legal parameters, the circumstances and outcomes of this historical matter and are comfortable that no further action is required at this time,” the SACA spokesman said.

Mr Tubb was approached for comment.
