A search for a man reported missing on a huge cattle station in South Australia’s outback is set to resume on Monday morning.
A search began after the 67-year-old man was reported missing by staff at the Welbourne Hill Station, a 3400sq km pastoral lease east of Marla around 3.30pm on Saturday.
It is understood the man lives alone in a shack at the station and the alarm was raised when staff could not find him during a regular welfare check.
As well as a land search by locals, aircraft in the area conducted patrols of the station.
PolAir and mounted operations have since been called in to assist with the extensive search.
Marla is about 970km northwest of Adelaide and 400 km south of Alice Springs.
Maximum temperatures in the outback area are predicted to rise from the present mid-30C on Monday to above 40C in the coming week.
