Sam Policki has been remembered by her boss at The Colonist Hotel in Norwood, who said she has left an “irreplaceable hole in their team”. The 21-year-old Magill woman tragically died in a crash near Port Pirie on Sunday night.

The boss of 21-year-old Sam Policki has remembered the young woman as a cheerful presence who has left an “irreplaceable hole” in their hospitality team.
The Magill woman was driving on the Port Augusta Highway, at the intersection of Warnertown Road near Port Pirie, when her car collided with a truck just after 8pm Sunday.
Ms Policki died at the scene.
Her passenger, whom The Advertiser believes is her boyfriend, was taken to the Port Pirie Hospital, before being flown to the Flinders Medical Centre. The 25-year-old Glynde man’s injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The truck driver was not injured in the crash.
Major Crash investigators attended the scene, and the Augusta Highway was reopened to traffic around 6am Monday.
Ms Policki’s workplace, The Colonist Hotel in Norwood, have paid tribute to their staff member. Breanna Stoldt, hotel manager, said Ms Policki’s nature suited their hotel perfectly.
“She was beautiful, quirky and fun,” Ms Stoldt said.
“A week into joining us, she jumped straight into staff karaoke night and was eager to just enjoy her life to the fullest.
“We will miss your fun-loving smiles and cheerful spirit.”
Ms Stoldt said her team would miss Ms Policki very much.
“Even though your time with us was short you have left an irreplaceable hole in our team Sam.”
Tributes were posted on social media in the hours following the incident saying the graduated Marryatville High School student was a “bright light taken too soon”.
A cousin of Ms Policki said: “I was blessed to be able to call you my cousin, you are one of the most beautiful souls I have had the privilege of knowing.”
Another said Ms Policki was a “truly beautiful person with the most beautiful personality”.
“Humbled and so sincere … always smiled. Rest in peace our doll.”
Another said the world has lost someone special.
“My condolences to your family may you rest in peace beautiful girl, hope you’re having a blast up there … we will all miss you.”
A friend said Ms Policki had an amazing ability to make people smile.
“You have made a lasting impact on everyone you’ve touched you truly are a special person.”
