The fatal crash follows another serious road incident over the weekend.
Just after 1am on Sunday, a 26-year-old Largs North man, behind the wheel of a Ford Festiva, was arrested after he allegedly caused a crash with a black Ford Mustang on Port Road at Thebarton.
Police say he was driving with a blood alcohol reading of 0.185 when he turned from Phillips Street on to Port Road, cutting out in front of the Mustang, which collided with the Festiva.
Three male passengers in the Festiva, 27, 26 and 24 were all rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious injuries.
The Largs North man was charged with drink driving and aggravated driving without due care. Police expect to lay further charges.
The driver of the Mustang was not injured in the smash.
Port Road was closed for several hours between Adam and George streets.
