Vehicles have been towed from a multi-car pileup on the South Eastern Freeway at Crafers West that caused delays for Adelaide Hills commuters.

Emergency services responded to a multi-vehicle crash on the down track of the freeway at Crafers West just after 7am.

It is understood at least seven cars were involved in the incident, just before the Heysen Tunnels.

Police reported traffic was delayed in the area and motorists were urged to avoid the area if possible.

Four vehicles were towed from the scene.

“There are no reports of any serious injuries,” police said.

Meanwhile, there are early reports of a three-vehicle crash on McIntyre Rd at Para Hills.

It comes after a horrific night on the state’s roads in which two men died in separate crashes.

A Seaford Rise man died when his car crashed into a tree off Main South Rd about 9pm Tuesday at Myponga.

In a separate incident, a Hart man, 52, died when he was struck by a car and truck on Rail Corridor Rd at Hart.

Their deaths were the 54th and 53rd, respectively, on the state’s roads this year.

And a driver remains in critical condition after colliding head-on with a school bus in the Barossa Valley on Tuesday.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Kalimna Road and Penrice Road at 3.45pm, with reports a Volkswagen hatchback had crashed into a bus carrying schoolchildren.
