SA and Adelaide weather forecast: Rainy Easter long weekend, with patches of sun
After a cold blast sent temperatures plummeting in SA, there will be some sunshine for Easter egg hunts on Sunday. Here’s what to expect.

It’s been a wet and chilly start to the Easter weekend, and you’ll need to keep your umbrella handy as the soggy conditions are set to last.
South Australia suffered through a wet, cold and windy Friday and Saturday, with tens of thousands of lightning strikes and plenty of rain, wind and hail.
But there will be breaks of sunshine on Sunday and Monday as the weather becomes milder, with Adelaide expected to reach a high of 20C and a slight chance of a shower or two.
The Bureau of Meteorology’s Jenny Horvat said Adelaide should see some gaps in the rain on Sunday.
“We should see a little bit of sun,” she said.
But she warned people not to pack away their umbrellas just yet.
Following a heatwave in the state’s north, Coober Pedy is set to experience temperatures of 27C on Sunday, followed by 29C on Monday and 36C on Tuesday.
Port Augusta will also see cooler weather this week with a temperatures as low as 22C on Easter Sunday, a sunny 24C on Monday and 25C on Tuesday.
Whyalla is expected to reach 20C on Sunday, a sunny 21C on Monday and a partly cloudy 24C on Tuesday with a shower or two.
But the gloomy weather won’t stop four-year-old Matilda and three-year-old Adelaide Arbon, who are excited for the Easter long weekend.
“They love being outdoors … they’ll be outside no matter what,” mum Stacey Arbon said.
Ms Arbon said she always puts on an outside Easter egg hunt on Sunday no matter what the weather is.
“They’re just at the right age this year to be excited for it,” she said.
