A truck driver has been killed in a workplace accident in the Riverland.
The 61-year-old Loxton man was struck by his truck near the loading bay The Wine Group winery on Bookpurnong Road about 8am on Wednesday.
Co-workers and paramedics attempted to save the man, but he died on the way to hospital.
The victim was a truck driver from a local transport company.
Major Crash Investigators attended the scene to examine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
SafeWork SA confirmed their inspectors were on site on Wednesday afternoon and investigations were underway.
“SafeWork SA offers condolences to his family, friends and colleagues at this distressing and sad time,” a statement said.
They would not release further information into the incident.
The Wine Group declined to comment about the circumstances of the incident.
