A restaurant owner was stabbed and beaten after confronting a group of men spraying graffiti on his building at Christies Beach.
The alarm was raised at Southern Palace Chinese on Gulfview Rd about 11.45pm Thursday after reports a man was stabbed in the hand and punched in the head.
The victim was rushed to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Police say the man had confronted five males after he spotted them spraying graffiti on his front window.
It appeared the graffiti said “pay ya tick”.
The suspects fled and police are yet to locate them.
Bloodied footprints were found at the scene on Friday morning.
One was described as wearing a striped T-shirt and light coloured tracksuit pants.
