Southern Expressway cleared of ramp pileup chaos

Southbound lanes have reopened on the Southern Expressway following a three-car collision at Sturt.
Traffic travelling towards Seaford faced delays following the smash on the Marion Rd ramp near South Rd and Ayliffes Rd.
The Advertiser understands an elderly man sustained minor injuries.

The Southern Expressway is currently closed for southbound traffic (towards Seaford) due to a collision from South Rd & Ayliffes Rd and from the Marion Rd on ramp at Sturt.

The South Australian Department of Infrastructure and Transport previously asked motorists to seek alternative routes, while emergency services and tow trucks attended the scene.
It follows a multi-vehicle smash on the Port River Expressway at Gillman on Tuesday night that caused the death of a 26-year-old woman from North Haven and injured three others.
The Port River Expressway is closed in both directions between Eastern Parade and Hanson Road, and will remain closed for some time this morning while Major Crash Investigators examine the scene.
