A man who allegedly posed as a food delivery driver who tried to supply heroin and other drugs to quarantining medi-hotel guests has appeared in court for the first time.

Raman Sharma, 28, of West Hindmarsh appeared in the Adelaide Magistrate Court on Wednesday charged with possessing a drug for supply to another person.

He is yet to enter a plea.

Police allege he arrived at a CBD medi-hotel carrying two food delivery bags and claimed he was there to deliver food to hotel guests about 7.40pm on October 13, 2021.

He dropped the bags off and left.

Officers could not find any receipts or details attached to the bags, and after a search noticed the bags allegedly contained a small amount of heroin and other drugs.

At the time, police said the bags were seized and Mr Sharma was arrested at his home the next morning.

Mr Sharma did not say anything during the short hearing, and did not respond to questions outside court.

He returns to court in April.
