He’s a pretty average footy player, Premier, father of four and now a Swiftie Dad.
Joining the Taylor Swift fever sweeping Australia, Premier Peter Malinauskas was at the pop superstar’s Sydney concert on Saturday night, joined by wife Annabel and daughter Sophie.
Mr Malinauskas is more of a Midnight Oil fan but Swiftie Sophie is understood to have convinced him to attend the second of Tay-Tay’s four Sydney concerts at Accor Stadium, Olympic Park.
“I caught the fever. I’m a Swiftydad,” Mr Malinauskas posted on Instagram.
The Premier wore Swift friendship bracelets, which Swifties make from coloured beads, spelling out names of the star’s songs and swap with one another at concerts.
But Mr Malinauskas chose not to embrace the full costume, eschewing the silver glitter dotted around Annabel and Sophie’s eyes.
One of the Premier’s friendship bracelets, presumably made by Sophie, spelled out: “Swiftydad”. Three others had names of Swift’s albums: Folklore, Red and Reputation. Another had Eras – the name of Swift’s record-breaking tour.
Mr Malinauskas faces a swift dash home from Sydney – he leaves Adelaide on Sunday morning for Whyalla and a three-day major economic summit in the Upper Spencer Gulf.
