A teenage girl has been left traumatised after she was violently bashed, kicked and dragged by her hair by what appears to be a fellow student at her school on Wednesday.

Footage aired by 10 News First Adelaide shows the young girl being violently attacked and repeatedly punched and kicked to the head while she screams in pain.

“As a parent it’s very traumatic because you shouldn’t be able to see your child on the ground getting kicked continuously by another child,” the victim’s mother told 10 News.

The victim’s sister said she was heartbroken over the incident.

“It was terrible, it was heartbreaking, I was on the verge of tears,” she said.

The attack allegedly happened on school grounds just minutes after students were dismissed.

“She (the victim) had massive headaches, she’s got a lump on her head,” the victim’s mother said.

The victim’s family told 10 News the assault was the latest in a string of attacks and called on the school to do more.

“She’s been threatened but like nothing has been done to help her,” the victim’s sister said.

The state Education Department told 10 News the behaviour was “absolutely unacceptable” and it was taking disciplinary action.

The victim’s family told 10 News they wanted security cameras installed and for the attacker and bystanders in the video to be expelled from school.
