Authorities have located a car and its driver wanted in connection with a series of suspicious grass fires in the Adelaide Plains last month.
Eight fires were believed to be deliberately lit at Two Wells, Dublin, Light, Korunye, Lower Light and Reeves Plains between 2.20pm and 7pm on February 24.
Country Fire Service crews were able to quickly contain the flames, leading to minimal damage – however the potential risk to local communities was significant due to extreme weather conditions.
At the time, Adelaide Plains Mayor Mark Wasley condemned the actions of the suspected arsonist.
“It’s a very reckless action to do such a thing,” he said.
He advised the community to “remain vigilant” and look out for suspicious activity.
The driver of the car is assisting police with their investigation and no arrests have been made.
