Police arrest Ascot Park man in connection with fatal shooting of Glenn Holton in Edwardstown

A man has been arrested over the fatal shooting of Adelaide father Glenn Holton, who was left to die on a suburban street.

Authorities have arrested an Ascot Park man linked to the fatal shooting of Adelaide father, Glenn Holton.

Around 11pm on Monday, detectives descended on a property at Park Holme and arrested a 44-year-old man from Ascot Park.

Police believe the man is known to the victim.

He is expected to be charged with murder later this morning and will be refused bail to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court today.

Mr Holton, 41, was shot and left to die on Dunorlan Rd, at Edwardstown on Sunday night.

Mr Holton was found lying in the street with a gunshot wound just after 9.15pm.

Paramedics and police swooped on the scene, but he could not be saved and died in hospital a short time later.

Neighbour Cheryl McCall said she arrived home at her property on Sunday night to find paramedics performing CPR Mr Holton in the nearby gutter.

“All I saw was a man with tattoos on his right arm, lying flat on his back trying to be revived by two ambulance people,” she said.

On Monday afternoon, Detective Inspector Mark McEachern called on the occupants of three vehicles captured on CCTV footage to come forward.

“We have gathered some CCTV that captures three cars … two SUVs and maybe a white hatch … we would like those people to come forward,” he said.

“In particular, whether they have seen not just people in the street but possibly someone riding a push bike in the vicinity of where the deceased was killed.”

Mr Holton was known to police.
