A person was hit by a train and died at the scene at West Croydon on Thursday night.

Police and emergency services responded to the incident near the intersection of Jane Street and Euston Terrace, West Croydon just after 5.30pm.

Train services stopped along the Outer Harbour line while emergency services responded to the incident, however services have resumed as normal.

Police will now prepare a report for the Coroner.
