Outer Harbor rail service disruptions as work continues on Port Dock Railway Line Project

Rail users north-west of the city should brace for major disruption with a huge chunk of the Outer Harbor line closed from today.

Commuters are being warned that rail closures will see services drastically restricted on the Outer Harbor line from Monday.

The closures will allow work on the $51 million Port Dock railway line project to take place, including construction of new track, maintenance and signalling works.

The Department for Infrastructure and Transport advise a number of temporary partial night and weekend closures between the Woodville and Outer Harbor railway stations will be in place during the work.

The line will partially close between 9pm and last service each weekday from Monday March to Thursday, March 21 and again from first service Saturday, March 23 to last service Sunday, March 34.

Outer Harbor train services will continue to operate between Adelaide Railway station and Woodville Station and substitute buses will replace trains between Woodville Railway Station and the Outer Harbor railway station, and will connect with arriving and departing services.

Grange line services will continue to operate as usual between the Adelaide Railway Station and the Grange Railway Station.

The Port Dock railway line project is set to re-establish the one kilometre spur line into Port Adelaide.

The project is expected to be complete by late 2024.
