Old Mate ad campaign continues with filming in Peel St, Adelaide
It was the ad campaign every old mate and his dog had something to say about. But now its star is back, he’s found a few friends and is trying some of Adelaide’s boutique laneway bars.

Not content with crying alone, Old Mate has brought friends to walk the streets of Adelaide looking forlorn.
Filming for a second promotional advert has begun with Peel St the scene of a picturesque twilight walk.
Jacket thrown stylishly over shoulder, jaunty waist coat undone and quaint trilby in head, old mate is joined by two, equally ancient friends.
Old Mate made headlines when an advert featuring the man weeping after seeing Adelaide for the first time was panned by viewers.
The project was labelled depressing and ageist but Premier Steven Marshall doubled down on the project saying that any attention was good attention.
Patrons on bars and restaurants on Peel St watched with wine glass in hand as the three actors paced up and down the popular alley shadowed by large film crew.
