A northern suburbs woman is fighting for life after being hit by a car near her home.
Nicole Wilson, 49, reportedly remains in a coma after the collision on McIntyre Rd at Para Hills West about 6.50pm Monday.
McIntyre Rd resident Natalie Hattam told 7News she was “just reassuring” Ms Wilson that “help was on the way and that she had people around her looking out for her”.
“That was the most important thing because she would have been terrified,” she said.
“It all happened so quickly.
Ms Wilson was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition on Monday night, while the driver of a Suzuki Swift, a 33-year-old Hope Valley woman was not injured in the crash.
“I feel so sorry for her because it wasn’t her fault,” Ms Hattam said of the driver.
“It was a freak accident.”
Ms Wilson’s neighbours reportedly said she crossed the stretch of McIntyre Rd near home daily.
McIntyre Rd was closed for several hours on Monday night while Major Crash investigators examined the scene but reopened later that night.
