Mystery buyer buys fire-ravaged Elizabeth North property

The fire-stricken Elizabeth North property that went viral thanks to its unsalvageable interior has been sold to a private buyer after the agent received more than 4000 inquiries.

House fire at Naracoorte causes $300,000 damage

A buyer has snatched up this dilapidated fire-ravaged home that went viral when first advertised for sale.

After two sale withdrawals, the “cheap cheap cheap” three-bedroom property in Elizabeth North has been sold to a private buyer for an undisclosed price.

It last sold in October 2004 for $103,000, and previously went for $45,200 in May 2001.

The owners were asking for $160k this time – despite the extensive damage throughout the interior of the home.

Real Estate agent Dominic Cirillio from Ray White said the final price may be disclosed to the public, once the property’s 30 days post-sale settlement contract has been finalised.

The property was listed as a “partial fire damaged home at a fire sale price”.

The property’s red-bricked exterior and dried shrub-like front yard, seen while driving past 51 Old Sarum Road, gave little indication of the extensive damage inside and rubbish out the back.

Mr Cirillio told The Advertiser the laundry, kitchen and backroom were extensively damaged but the home was situated on a big 689m2 block.

Mr Cirillio said the property listing had attracted more than 4000 inquiries from curious buyers.

“We’ve been flat-out and had more than 20 offers, both from local buyers and interstate buyers,” Mr Circillo said.
