A man has died after his car hit a fence in Adelaide’s northern suburbs on Sunday night.

At around 9.40pm emergency services were called to Winterslow Rd at Edinburgh North after reports a white Ford ute had slammed into a fence.

The driver, a 60-year-old Salisbury North man, died at the scene. His passenger, a 59-year-old Salisbury North woman was not injured.

Police are investigating if the driver suffered a medical episode prior to the crash.

His death is the 78th life lost on South Australian roads this year compared with 50 at the same time last year.

It follows the death of a pedestrian killed in an alleged hit-run crash in the northern suburbs on Wednesday.

Zack Hunt, 32, was killed when a vehicle ran him over on Johnston Rd, Elizabeth Downs at about 1am on Wednesday.

The driver, a 29-year-old Craigmore woman, allegedly fled the scene in her vehicle, leaving Mr Hunt fighting for life on the road with critical injuries.
