Tradie Lachie Burtt has revealed himself as the “Beer Snake Bandit” who disrupted Friday night’s Australia v India play at Adelaide Oval.
He has also apologised for his stunt.
Mr Burtt admitted to 9 NEWS he had enjoyed a few beers before, armed with beer snake, he ran behind the sight screen – just as Aussie batsman Marnus Labuschagne was facing up to Indian bowler Mohammed Siraj.
“I didn’t, like, really have time to stop and think (about the effects of my actions),” Burtt said, adding: “I did feel pretty silly – it wasn’t the right thing. Sorry Marnus.”
Mr Burtt, who refers to himself as “Beer Snake Bandit” on his Instagram account, was escorted from the oval and banned from the rest of Friday’s match.
