An Adelaide man has had one lucky start to the festive season, bagging a $500,000 lotto win on December 1.
The winner held a Keno Spot 8 winning entry in draw 492 and said he used his special set of numbers, including family birthdates, on his winning ticket.
“I was there watching the draw! I saw it happen,” the man said.
“I saw I just needed one more number … and there it was.
“Beautiful.”
His winning Keno entry was purchased at Myer Centre Newsagent in Rundle Mall, he played $10 on his winning Keno game, and won a whopping $500,000.
“I pick my own numbers on my Keno tickets. I just use some birthdates and things like that, and other times I make patterns on the ticket with the numbers,” the winner said.
“This is a great way to finish the year. I want to clear a few bills and go on a holiday. I don’t know where to yet, but it will be great.”
In the 2023 financial year, there were more than 5.8 million Keno wins across South Australia worth more than $101.88 million.
This included 45 Keno Spot 8, 9 and 10 winners across South Australia who scored more than $8.11 million.
The Spot 10 prize was won three times during this period, with the biggest being $2.3 million on a ticket from Lonsdale Hotel.
