The 91-year-old man who was tragically killed when he was struck by a car at Evanston Gardens on Friday night has been identified as Kevin.
He was on his regular nightly walk with his dog along Brereton Rd just before 8pm when he was hit while trying to cross the Gawler Bypass.
Friend and neighbour of 70 years Ashley Duffield told 7NEWS Kevin, of Hillier, was an active and fit man who walked his terrier along that road regularly.
“His wife died some years ago so the dog becomes a companion,” Mr Duffield said.
“I thought he had many many years of a healthy and enjoyable life to live.”
