A week after holidaying in South Australia, pop superstar Katy Perry has arrived back in the state for a series of shows in Adelaide.
The US singer’s private jet touched down at Adelaide Airport at about 4.30pm and minutes later she emerged from the plane, wearing a hat and full-length grey coat with a hood to cover her face.
Alongside Perry was her four-year-old daughter Daisy and the pair were immediately whisked off the tarmac in a black van.
While her fiance, Orlando Bloom, was nowhere to be seen, Perry’s return to Adelaide came hours after the Hollywood actor posted several videos and photos of himself on Kangaroo Island.
The images and videos show the Pirates of the Caribbean star getting up close and personal with a koala, and soaking up some sun on a KI beach.
“My new spirit animal is a koala,” he wrote on one story.
Last weekend Perry and Daisy enjoyed a much-publicised getaway at luxury resort Southern Ocean Lodge, five-star accommodation where rooms start at $3400 a night.
Speculation had been growing that the couple were on the rocks, with entertainment website TMZ declaring the high-profile pair were on the verge of going their separate ways.
Perry will kick off the SA leg of her Australian tour at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Thursday night, and perform a further three concerts on Friday, Sunday and Monday.
Excitement has been at fever pitch ahead of her arrival, with more than 35,000 people tipped to attend her quartet of Adelaide shows.
AEC general manager Kate Russo described it as “the most significant concert run we’ve had by a single artist” in many years.
This week, a cow-cuddling farm in the Adelaide Hills invited the singer to pay a visit to her namesake, Katy Perry the Highland cow.
The Farm in Clarendon said they wanted to “create a viral moo-ment” by bringing the two together, and are in talks with Perry’s team to make the meeting happen.
Last Thursday, the Firework singer shocked fans by jetting into South Australia for a pre-tour trip to Kangaroo Island.
While security was tight during her visit, Perry took time out to meet local fans near Kingscote Airport on Friday.
But she kept her distance, revealing she had been feeling unwell during her stay on KI.
“Yes, but I got very sick last night,” Perry told a man who asked if she was enjoying her stay. “I’m trying not to get her sick. I had a random fever.”
She then travelled onto Perth for two shows on Sunday and Monday before returning to SA.
