An Adelaide woman is happily bolstering her retirement plans after scoring more than $4.6 million in last night’s Powerball draw.
The Huntfield Heights resident held the only division one winning entry across the country in Powerball draw 1399. She takes home a total prize of $4,624,993.
“Oh my god! That’s all I’ve been saying all night,” she told The Lott.
“I haven’t slept … I’ve got butterflies in my stomach.”
The woman has been playing the winning numbers “for years”.
“They’re sort of special, I just picked them and stuck with them,” she said.
Her first purchase will support her family.
“I’ve always said if I ever won the lottery, I’d buy my son a house, and now I will,” she said.
“I’ll also be able to do a few things I never thought I’d be able to do, like go on The Ghan.”
Her winning marked 18-game entry was purchased at Hackham Licensed Post Office & Newsagency.
Owner Steve Marks said he was thrilled to have sold his first division one winning entry.
“I’ve been selling lotteries for almost two decades, and this is my first division one win! Wow!” he said.
The winning numbers were 7, 10, 27, 33, 30, 20 and 17. The Powerball number was 1.
