A second man has been charged over the fatal crash on a winding Adelaide Hills road that killed a Klemzig man, earlier this month.
Police and emergency services were called to Torrens Hill Rd at Millbrook about 8.30am on Saturday, July 1, after reports a truck had crashed with two people on board.
The truck's passenger, 44-year-old Adam Svokos from Klemzig, died at the scene.
The driver, a 46-year-old Blair Athol man, was not seriously injured and was taken to Modbury Hospital for treatment. Later that day he was charged over the fatal crash.
SAPol’s Heavy vehicle Enforcement Unit investigated the fatality and, on July 14,
police went to a Hope Valley address and arrested the truck’s owner.
The 62-year-old Happy Valley man was charged with failing to meet his primary safety duty under the Heavy Vehicle National Law.
He was bailed to appear in the Magistrates Court on November 22.
The mother of two of Mr Svokos’ children, Catherine Kadow, posted a heartwarming tribute on social media for “the love of (her) life,” after the tragedy.
“I’ll never forget you Adam, and I’m glad I got the chance to know you over the past 20 years,” Ms Kadow wrote.
“I’ll always be there for our two children, I’ll always love you and I’ll always treasure what we had together.”
