Heavy fog shrouded Adelaide and the Hills again, forcing the cancellation of flights and prompting a warning to drivers to go slow on the roads.
Adelaide Airport revealed four QantasLink regional flights were cancelled this morning.
A Qantas spokeswoman said safety concerns sparked by low visibility prompted the cancellations.
“Heavy fog impacted two of our Adelaide return services this morning – to Port Lincoln and Whyalla. They were cancelled due to low visibility,” she said.
“Customers have been rebooked on alternative flights today. We apologise for the disruption, but safety is always our priority.”
Meanwhile, one driver heading to the city on the South-Eastern Freeway said visibility was extremely poor from Mt Barker onwards.
“You just couldn’t see – it was a real pea-souper.” he said.

Bureau of Meteorology spokesperson climatologist Dr Simon Grainger said the fog was expected to hang around until late morning and a road weather alert has been issued for the Adelaide area.
“There is quite a bit (of fog) around the place, eastern districts through central and western parts as well,” he said.
“It’s a good morning to take extra care on the roads that’s for sure, because obviously that reduces visibility so makes things a little bit more dangerous on the roads.
“With those more extensive areas it does take a little bit longer to clear so I expect we’ll see some areas of fog around until late morning.
He said fog was more likely to form after a few days of rain with more moisture closer to the ground.

On Tuesday, thick fog enveloped parts of South Australia, with reports from Two Wells, Evanston Gardens and Munno Para Downs, as well as on the Eyre Peninsula.
Reader Jandy Mason said the fog was so deep, it was “like the clouds fell to the ground”.
