Green Leaves Early Learning childcare facility proposed for Enfield

A new childcare centre for 110 kids is planned for Adelaide’s inner-northern suburbs as an early learning provider that vows to do things “differently” expands across the city.
Plans lodged to Port Adelaide Enfield Council reveal a proposed single-storey childcare facility in Enfield, which would be operated by Green Leaves Early Learning.
The 921.6 sqm centre on Main North Rd would hit a height of nearly 6m, plans shows.
It’s set to feature seven main, light-filled activity rooms for up to 110 children, aged from newborns to three-years-old and older, three large outdoor play areas and carparking for 28 spaces.
Inside the centre would feature four sleeping rooms, laundry, four prep rooms, several lavatories, kitchen with a pantry, parent lounge that offers “freshly baked treats and coffee” and reception area with a store.
The centre would be surrounded by picturesque landscaping and a fence closing off the site’s perimeter.
Green Leaves says it has a strong focus on “developing environmental awareness”, and offers children's the chance to explore sustainable playscapes, vegetable gardens and composting and the “discovery of ecological systems”.
If approved, the centre would operate from Monday to Friday between 6.30am to 6.30pm.
The site is currently vacant after previously being occupied as a sales outlet for heavy vehicles by Cavpower.
Plans are open for consulation until June 3.
