Globe Derby Park hotel staff threatened with machete in aggressive robbery
Thousands of dollars was taken and staff were left shaken after a man armed with a machete robbed a northern suburbs hotel overnight.

A machete wielding man who threatened staff before making off with thousands of dollars at a Globe Derby hotel is on the run.
Police were called to Globe Derby Trotting Park after a man robbed the hotel.
The offender entered the hotel and approached two staff armed with a machete, demanding they open the safe and remove a large amount of cash and place it in a duffel bad.
The staff members were shaken but not physically injured in the incident.
Patrols flooded the area searching for the suspect who was wearing a black hooded jumper, dark pants with his face covered.
Northern District detectives and crime scene investigators examined the scene but the suspect is still at large.
It comes after a woman was threatened with a handgun why waiting for her bus in a daylight attempt robbery at Wayville.
The offender allegedly pulled a black handgun on the 47-year-old before demanding her purse.
The suspect is described as a woman of Aboriginal appearance, aged about 40, and of medium build with shoulder length dark coloured wavy hair.
