Wayville armed robbery: Woman held up at gunpoint on Goodwood Rd

A 47-year-old woman has fended off an armed would-be female robber in a terrifying daylight attack while waiting for her bus on Goodwood Rd.

A woman armed with a handgun had her attempt to rob another woman thwarted during a daylight attack while waiting for her bus in Wayville.

The 47-year-old victim was approached by a woman while waiting at a bus stop on Goodwood Road about 5pm Tuesday.

The offender allegedly pulled out a black handgun and demanded the victim’s purse.

After the victim said she had no money, the woman attempted to snatch her handbag, resulting in a struggle between the pair in which the victim grabbed the weapon.

The 47-year-old hit the offender with her bag, causing her to fall to the ground, before the offender ran off toward Greenhill Road.

The offender is described as of Aboriginal appearance, aged about 40-years-old, and of medium build with shoulder-length dark coloured wavy hair.

She was wearing a white hooded jumper and dark coloured pants.

Police are appealing for witnesses who saw or were driving in the vicinity at the time and may have dashcam footage.
