The Gawler rail line will close this weekend to allow works to be completed on pedestrian crossings and the Elizabeth turnback.
The Gawler line will be closed from first service on Saturday, December 16, until the last service on Sunday, December 17, between Adelaide Railway Station and Gawler Railway Station.
Substitute bus services will operate as close as possible to the train timetable for the duration of the shutdown.
The temporary bus stops will be positioned close to the railway stations with the timetable outlined on the Adelaide Metro site.
Full services will resume on Monday, December 18.
During the closure, Adelaide Metro will complete new active pedestrian crossings at North Adelaide Railway Station and the Parklands, as well as the Elizabeth turnback.
The works come after a cyclist died last year at the North Adelaide station crossing as the crossing was constructed but the gates weren’t activated.
