A CHIROPRACTOR has pleaded guilty to more than 200 charges stemming from the secret filming of clients, including women and children getting undressed — but his identity remains suppressed.

The man appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court via videolink on Tuesday, charged with 216 counts, including indecent filming and an assault charge.

Through his lawyer, Craig Caldicott, he pleaded guilty to all counts as about 30 of his victims sat in the public gallery to hear his admission.

But the case was delayed until January for the Director of Public Prosecutions to provide further evidence from SA Police’s electronic crime division.

Despite an application by the media to revoke the suppression order against his identity now that he had admitted his crimes, Magistrate Paul Foley allowed the gag to stand.

Under state law, there is an automatic suppression for a defendant charged with a sex offence until they are committed to a higher court.

The man is expected to be committed early next year.

It will be alleged the man had been secretly filming people at his practice from 2012 until this year.

He set up a fixed camera to film women in the change room but on two occasions used a handheld camera to film clients as he massaged them.

On Monday, the prosecutor told Mr Foley that investigators had found four more victims since he last appeared in court in October, bringing the number of charges to 216.

In October, Chief Magistrate Mary-Louise Hribal revoked his home detention bail and ordered him into custody, saying the alleged offending was too serious and the prosecution case appeared strong.

During that appearance, he faced 212 counts, up from the 56 counts in August.

The then-prosecutor Lisa Duong told the court that the man had made “certain admissions” to the offending, as well as identifying himself as a sex addict.

“He described it (the offending) as a sex addiction,” she said.

“He says it has been going on for four years ... there were more than 400 individuals — more than has been determined by the prosecution at this particular time.”
