Footage of three trucks involved in a frightening night-time road rage incident on the Princes Hwy near Murray Bridge has emerged.

Two big rigs from the same company allegedly blocked a third driver, Dilpreet Kochhar, from a different company from overtaking on the dual carriageway.

Mr Kochhar told 7NEWS the driver in front of him was abusing him over the two-way radio and “I was abusing back”.

He was trying to overtake the truck in front of him from the left lane but claims that driver deliberately got in his way.

“He just gives a right signal and deliberately comes into my lane and tried to cause an accident,” Mr Kochhar said

There’d been an argument between the three drivers earlier in the night and it came to a head when he was nearly run off the road.

SA Road Transport Association executive director Steve Shearer said the incident could have ended in tragedy.

Mr Shearer said he was either failing to check his mirrors, which was really bad driving practice, or he was trying to block the third truck.

“Both of those are utterly unacceptable. Both of those could have cost his life or somebody else’s life,” he said.
