Taxi driver Blaine Jeffrey, 53, has left the Riverland community devastated by his tragic passing, after his car collided with a truck on Monday afternoon.
The Renmark Paringa Mayor Peter Hunter expressed his condolences and issued a message of support to friends and family affected by Mr Jeffrey’s passing.
“Our hearts absolutely go out to them and I know the community will come around their relatives and friends to support in this very difficult time,” Mayor Hunter said.
Mr Jeffrey has been remembered by friends and family as a “hard-working typical Aussie bloke, who would give you the shirt off his back.”
Mr Jeffrey’s car, also carrying a 94-year-old passenger, collided with a B-double truck on the Sturt Highway, Old Calperum.
The identity of the 94-year-old passenger has not yet been confirmed.
