Two more of the three victims of the horror truck accident on the Eyre Highway on Thursday have been identified with appeals to help all three families raising more than $120,000.
The head-on crash about 27km west of Yalata killed grandfather Neville “Slim” Mugridge, 77, of Smithfield.
A GoFundMe appeal by TML Transport to help support his wife Delphine has raised almost $30,000.
The men from interstate in the other truck also have had GoFundMe appeals started which identify them as Yadwinder Singh Bhatti, 45, a father of three from Melbourne, and recently married Pankaj Siyag, 25, of Sydney who were carrying a load to Perth.
Mr Bhatti’s wife Ramandeep wrote on her appeal that his sudden loss shows how important it is to cherish every moment.
“When he kissed us all and said his final goodbye before leaving, none of us knew that he wasn’t going to come back and embrace us again,” she wrote.
“No one could imagine that the passing of one such significant life could leave us so shaken up and unable to provide for his last rites.
“We’ve been left unprepared and unable to look into the future with five mouths to feed.
“Please support us to give him the funeral he deserves by donating funds to this account so his soul can rest in peace.”
It is understood Mr Bhatti’s mother also lives with the family.
This appeal has raised almost $56,779 of an $80,000 target.
Jaideep, Pankaj’s younger brother, wrote on his appeal that Pankaj was a beloved son, brother, and friend, “and his sudden departure has left us devastated.”
“He was recently married, and his wife, now alone in Australia, is facing an unimaginable loss without any family support in this foreign land,” he wrote.
“As we grapple with this immense loss, we are faced with the challenging task of bringing Pankaj’s body back home to India, so he can rest in peace surronded by his loved ones.
“The expenses associated with transporting his body from Australia to India are significant and we humply ask for your support during this difficult time.”
This appeal has raised $55,348 after a $45,000 target.
