Croydon Park man, 26, arrested after emergency services respond to stabbing at Brompton, hours after alleged Mt Barker assault

A man has been taken to hospital with a chest wound after a stabbing in Adelaide’s northwest – hours after a similar incident in the Hills.

A man is in hospital and another arrested after a stabbing in Adelaide’s northwest – the second incident of its kind in less than 12 hours.

Just before 11am on Wednesday, police and paramedics were called to West St at Brompton.

On arrival, they found a 24-year-old man with a stab wound to his chest, however they believe the incident occurred at another site.

He was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment and his injuries are not considered life threatening.

Police have seized a car for forensic testing.

Following investigations, Western District detectives arrested a 26-year-old Croydon Park man and charged him with aggravated assault causing serious harm.

The incident was not random and the people involved were known to each other, police said.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.

It comes only hours after a man was stabbed in the groin at Mount Barker.

The incident unfolded around 1am on Wednesday on Laver St.

The 40-year-old victim was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition and as of 6.30am his injuries were serious but not considered life-threatening.

A 47-year-old local man was arrested later on Wednesday morning and was charged with aggravated assault to cause serious harm.
