71-year-old Lyndoch man killed in motorbike crash near Kapunda

A man has died after his motorbike crashed in the Barossa. The road remains closed as Major Crash investigates.

A 71-year-old man from Lyndoch has died after a motorbike crash in the Barossa.

Emergency services responded to a serious crash on Greenock Road at Fords involving a motorcyclist, near Kapunda in the state’s north.

Police were alerted to the single vehicle crash just after 2pm on Tuesday, December 3.

It is understood the vehicle left the road and crashed and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Greenock Road remained closed to all traffic on Tuesday afternoon between the Thiele Highway and The Gap Road.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area where possible.

He is the 81st person killed on South Australia’s roads in 2024.

Jason Harvey, a 53-year-old man from Gawler, was killed on the Thiele Highway near Kapunda last month.
