Pilot taken to hospital following gyrocopter crash at Quorn

A pilot was left with serious lacerations after his light air craft crashed in the state’s Mid North on Wednesday afternoon.

A pilot has been taken to hospital with serious lacerations following a gyrocopter crash at Quorn.

It is believed the aircraft collided with a building and a vehicle at the Quorn Racecourse.

Emergency services rushed to the state’s mid-north following reports of the ultralight aircraft crash at around 4.40pm.

The 33-year-old pilot from the State’s Mid North, was taken to hospital by ambulance, after he sustained serious lacerations, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

Authorities are investigating the incident.

It comes as the town prepares for its annual Quorn Cup race meeting on Saturday.
