The woman found on July 13 with serious head injuries, just metres from her Elizabeth Grove home, has died.
Karen Johnson, 59, was found bleeding with traumatic head injuries on Sampson Rd about 8pm Wednesday, July 13.
Paramedics and police rushed to the scene and treated Ms Johnson before she was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
Police said Ms Johnson had died in the RAH on Saturday and a report was being prepared for the Coroner.
Her heartbroken son is urging anyone with information regarding her death to come forward.
Buzzby Barfoot, 26, said he hoped SA Police would be able to provide answers about how his mother Karen Johnson, 59, sustained her fatal injuries,
“I want to know if there’s any shred of information that people have that they can provide the police,” Mr Barfoot said. “I really hope they do have anything that can come to a conclusion,” he said.
“I want answers to her death.”
On July 13, Ms Johnson was found lying on Sampson Rd in Elizabeth Grove, just metres from her home. Police were still unsure how she sustained her injuries.
Mr Barfoot remembered his mother as a “friendly” person who would be missed.
“Mum was a lovely person,” he said.
“She made friends wherever she went.
“So many people have reached out...it’s good to know that so many people out there remember who she was.”
Last week, police said they had not ruled out a hit-run crash.
“The matter is still under investigation and there are no further updates at this time,” a spokesman said last Thursday.
Mr Barfoot said he would try to find some kind of life for himself.
“I’m all I’ve got left so I’ve got to keep my head up and I’ve got to keep hopeful, I just don’t have any options now … or I’ll just wither into nothing, he said.”
He said he felt safe at his home but has not been told by police what might have happened to his mother.
“I’m just confused, there’s no anger because I can’t direct it towards anything,” he said.
The young man’s father, Marcus Barfoot, tragically died on a worksite in 2018.
Anyone with information on the incident should call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
