Driver reported after alleged street race with motorcyclist in Adelaide’s north

A driver’s car was impounded after he was caught allegedly street racing with a motorcyclist in Adelaide’s north overnight.

Military Road street race and police pursuit

An allegedly reckless driver was reported for street racing with a motorcyclist in Salisbury overnight.

Police rushed to the Salisbury Highway about 12.30am Monday where they saw a Holden sedan allegedly racing alongside a black sports bike heading south.

They lost sight of the motorcycle which was allegedly speeding without lights.

The Holden sedan was stopped on Kings Rd at Parafield Gardens a short time later and the driver, a Paralowie man, 22, was reported for street racing.

His car was impounded for 28 days and he will appear in court at a later date.

Meanwhile, a car was torched in Christie Downs overnight.

The car was alight on Chamberlain Drive about 1am Monday and the Subaru was destroyed.

Crime Scene investigators went to the scene.

It follows several recent southern suburbs fire attacks including a home and then a restaurant targeted by molotov cocktails.

Last week, a Port Noarlunga business was targeted by arsonists who tried to start a fire using molotov cocktails and flares.

An earlier this month, a home was firebombed on Herrings Lane at Happy Valley.

Hours later, a Holden sedan was reported alight in the driveway of a home on Valleyfair Rd at Hackham West.
