A woman has been charged after a crash near Williamstown last month that left her with serious injuries and her young passenger fighting for his life.

A woman has been charged after a serious crash at Williamstown, on the fringe of the Barossa, which left her teen passenger fighting for his life.

Emergency services were called to Yettie Rd on Thursday, February 29, after reports that a car travelling north left the road and hit a tree, just before 5pm.

Major Crash Investigators have now charged the driver, a 49-year-old woman of Angas Valley, with causing serious harm by dangerous driving.

She was bailed to appear at Murray Bridge Magistrates Court on June 5, and issued with an immediate loss of licence.

Following the crash, the woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries, along with her 19-year-old male passenger from Angas Valley, who was in a critical condition.

Yettie Rd, near Needles Rd remained closed in both directions while Major Crash officers examined the circumstances that led up to the crash.
