Dashcam footage captures a road altercation that descends into a physical fight on Currie Street

An altercation on a busy city centre road descended into physical blows, with the incident captured on a dashcam of another car.

Footage obtained by 7NEWS shows a white car swerving across lanes and cutting off a mini-van on Currie Street as it moves into the left lane.

Both the mini-van and the car then move into the middle lane. The mini-van then switches to the right lane and back to the middle lane, with white car cutting it off at every lane change.

The mini-van then switches to the left lane before both vehicles come to a stop at a red light.

The mini-van moves out of the frame but a man, presumably its driver, then gets out of one of the vehicles and goes to confront the driver of the other car, with the interaction quickly turning into a tussle.

The fight breaks up when another man approaches the pair.
