Cyclist in critical condition after falling down stairs at West Terrace Cemetery

A cyclist has been rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition after an accident at West Terrace Cemetery.

A cyclist is in a critical condition after falling from his bike at the West Terrace Cemetery.

The man in his 50s was found unconscious on the path by a group of passers-by around 10:00am on Tuesday, 7NEWS reported.
The man had suffered serious head injuries and was having difficulty breathing.

The group included a retired GP who successfully performed CPR while waiting for emergency services to arrive.

It is believed the man attempted to take a short cut through the cemetery, unaware of stairs towards the end of the path.

Witness Mike said it looked like the man had fallen head first over the ledge.

Paramedics rushed the man to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
