Charlotte and Oliver have topped the list for most popular baby names in South Australia for the third year running.
The two English favourites – given to 147 boys and 114 girls last year – held onto top spot, with Jack in second place for the second year running.
But Ava – which was third in 2018 – crept up one place into second.
Third place saw the arrival of two newcomers – Leo, which finished No.8 in 2018, and Olivia, which jumped four places from seventh.
After struggling to arrive at a name they both liked, Maddy and Jack Eccleston used an unusual method to christen their baby boy Leo.
“It actually first came up because we were going through the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles names and that’s how we got Leo on our short list,” Ms Eccleston said.
Leo, who arrived in December, is the couple’s first child. “We both love watching him trying out and learning new facial expressions,” his mum said.
Archie – the name chosen by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for their baby boy in May – was given to 60 little princes last year, up from 57 the year before.
Prince William and his wife Kate’s choice of name was also trending on the list, with 49 people naming their baby George last year, up from 43 the previous year. And William made the top five, with 98 baby boys sharing the prince’s name heading into 2020.
