WHEN it comes to baby names, South Australians know what they like – and they’re not afraid to stick to it.
Charlotte has been revealed as the most popular baby name for SA girls for six consecutive years, while Oliver has topped the boys’ list for five years in a row.
Data from Consumer and Business Services shows 18,400 births were registered in 2017.
Of the 8871 girls born, 132 were named Charlotte, while 172 out of 9529 boys were named Oliver.
Other popular names for boys included William, Jack, Noah and Henry, while Ava, Isla, Harper and Amelia rounded out the top five names for girls.
But not all parents opted for traditional names, with some being influenced by television and popular culture.
Game of Thrones-inspired names were Khaleesi and Daenerys, while four boys were named Keanu and five were called Bowie.
