Car erupts in flames outside Port Lincoln

A car has been completely destroyed by fire after it burst into flames on the road near a popular SA tourist town. Find out where.

A car has been completely destroyed by fire on the Eyre Peninsula on Sunday.

Firefighters responded to the blaze on Woods Rd, at Duck Ponds near Port Lincoln about 7.40am and found the Toyota completely engulfed by flames.

Country Fire Service crews, including two trucks and a bulk water carrier with seven breathing apparatus members on board, extinguished the blaze and reduced the risk of flames impacting the surrounding vegetation.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
