Buyers have eagerly snapped up luxury homes at the $350m Morphettville Racecourse redevelopment on Saturday.
The properties are being developed by Villawood Properties in a joint venture with
the South Australian Jockey Club and superannuation giant Hostplus.
The first tranche of The Quarter precinct featured 10 boutique designs with price points from
$599K to $1.569M
Buyer interest has been huge, according to Villawood, with 40 registrations of interest
lodged in just five minutes when the offer went live on Thursday. Lot sales were
confirmed and contracts signed Saturday morning.
The South Australian Jockey Club (SAJC) chose developer Villawood Properties and superannuation company Hostplus to redevelop 7.5ha of rezoned land between the racetrack and Anzac Highway.
Key features of the redevelopment include a new community plaza which would be available for year-round events and create a grand entry to the racecourse, mixed-use apartment buildings with more than 150 residences, a supermarket, shops, hospitality outlets, along with 250 townhouses and low-rise apartments.
There is also five-star 10-storey hotel as one of the three towers forming the cornerstone
of one of SA’s major tourism projects.
Villawood CEO Alan Miller said diverse housing options within the wider Morphettville project would service strong supply, affordability and lifestyle demand in Adelaide’s inner-suburban market. “This is a rare handful of trackside three-storey luxury homes with rooftop gardens,” he said.
“It’s integrated with a range of high-spec designed affordable housing in the same
project.”
