Bertie Beetle showbag $5, up from $3, at 2023 Royal Adelaide Show
Bertie Beetle lovers are in for a shock – the cost of the popular showbag has jumped by more than 65 per cent for this year’s Royal Adelaide Show.

A Bertie Beetle showbag will set Royal Adelaide Show punters back $5 this year, up from $3 – an increase of more than 66 per cent.
The beloved showbag will include five Bertie Beetles and one Kit Kat.
A Bertie Beetle Gold showbag will cost $8, the Bertie Beetle 60th Birthday bag will be $18 and Bertie Beetle Bonanza will have a price tag of $20.
Royal Adelaide Show chief executive Will Rayner said showbag price rises were “kept to an absolute minimum” with “90 per cent of showbags the same price as last year”.
Mr Rayner said he encouraged showgoers to “get online and plan your day” ahead of time to get the most value for your money.
On Thursday, children from Camp Quality and Golden Grove Primary School got an exclusive look at more than 400 showbags that will be on sale at this year’s Royal Adelaide Show.
Golden Grove Primary school student Grace Barnett, 8, led the charge of tiny testers into the bag area and said she felt like she was going to faint” from excitement.
Jade Grosser, 31, and two-year-old son, Chase, travelled from Seaford Rise to make the event.
Chase picked the Caramello Koala bag with Ms Grosser choosing a Spiderman bag for her “little superhero”.
Ms Grosser said Chase was diagnosed with leukaemia only nine weeks ago and “thinks he’s a little superhero getting his chemo and superpowers”.
