A driver has been killed in a serious two car crash in the Flinders Ranges.

Two cars crashed on the Augusta Highway at Woolundunga about 7pm Sunday.

The driver and sole occupant of a Hyundai sedan, an Adelaide woman, 25, died at the scene while the driver in the Isuzu ute, a local man, 57, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

He was taken to the Port Augusta Hospital for treatment.

The Augusta Highway was closed between Stirling North and the Horrocks Pass Rd while Major Crash Investigators examined the scene on Sunday evening but has since reopened.

The latest death is the 13th life lost on the state’s roads compared to 20 at the same time last year.

It follows a fatal crash at Paracombe at the weekend.

Two boys, 16, were in a buggy on Pitt Rd when the vehicle rolled about 9pm Saturday.

The passenger, a Modbury North boy, died at the scene while the driver was taken to hospital for observation.

The woman’s death is the 14th life lost on SA roads this year, compared with 20 at the same time last year.
